I'm Philip, a photographer based in New Braunfels, Texas. I shoot mostly landscape and nature, with a standing appointment for monochrome architecture whenever a city is willing.
My work began as a way to slow down the places I was passing through, and it has stayed that way. I am not a fast shooter. I will sit on a ridge for ninety minutes waiting for a cloud to move into position. I will return to the same stream three mornings in a row until the light is right. The frames that matter are the ones that took patience to find.
When I'm not behind a lens I'm usually with my wife and our family in the Hill Country, on the river, or at a Spurs game with a cold drink and high expectations.
I build this portfolio around experiences (discrete trips or seasons where a body of work came together) rather than flat galleries. It's closer to how I remember making the pictures, and I hope closer to how you'll remember seeing them.
